Inorganic Organic
solo exhibition at Cu29 Gallery, Plovdiv

The artist presents а series of artworks exploring the “natural environment” in the video game world. The artworks are a result of direct observations and alternative to the photographic practice in the virtual world. The main focus of the exhibition is to explore the process of simulation of the invisible for the human eye changes in nature, which could be guided by physical and chemical laws. These events, when occurring in the digital world, work on a different time scale, are predetermined and sculpted by designers and are merely visual simulations only working on a surface level guided by digital processes that do not contain accidental chaotic changes.

The project's concept is centered on the problem of possible implementation of natural processes in virtual reality, when these events are normally too slow or realized on a micro level to be noticeable in real time by the humans. The absence of mechanics that allows the game world to fall apart and corrode makes it different from any other media, because it cannot actually age. This inspires the artist to seek an analogical approach to weathering and corrosion in the digital world.

The exhibition is possible thanks to the financial support of Gaudenz B. Ruf Award for new Bulgarian art.
